DAR chief tests positive for COVID-19

MANILA, Philippines — Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Secretary Bernie Cruz has tested positive for COVID-19.

Cruz said he is undergoing home quarantine. He is asymptomatic.

Cruz said he underwent RT-PCR test on Monday before the scheduled land distribution in Oriental Mindoro.

He urged DAR officials and employees who interacted with him to isolate and get tested for COVID-19.

Mayor Gatchalian ends quarantine

Meanwhile, Valenzuela Mayor Rex Gatchalian returned to work yesterday after completing his quarantine.

Gatchalian tested positive for COVID-19 on Jan. 4.

He said he manifested mild symptoms of the viral disease.
