UE nagpaliwanag sa pagbuwag sa Lady Warriors

MANILA, Philippines — Ang hindi na pagsuporta ng Strong Group Athletics sa kanilang women’s volleyball program ang dahilan ng pagbuwag ng University of the East sa koponan kasama ang coaching staff.

Ito ang inihayag kahapon ng UE ilang araw matapos ang pagtatanggal sa ilang miyembro ng Lady Warriors at kay interim coach Allan Mendoza.

Natira lamang sina scorers Van Bangayan, Khy Cepada, libero Ange­lica Reyes at outside hitter Bea Zamudio.

Ang SGA ang sumuporta sa UE women’s volleyball squad mula UAAP Season 86 hanggang 87.

Sa ilalim ni Mendoza ay nagtala ang Lady Red Warriors ng 0-14 record sa UAAP Season 87 matapos ang pagkawala nina Casiey Dongallo, Jelai Gajero, Kizzie Madriaga, Shamel Fernandez at Jenalyn Umayam.

Kasalukuyan nang nag­hahanap ang UE Physical Education (PE) Department ng mga bagong players at coaches at nakatakdang magdaos ng “open tryout”.

“In line with this policy, despite the team’s underperformance in previous seasons, all incumbent pla­yers were given the same opportunity and due process to participate in the tryout, alongside new participants,” ani ng UE.
