30 teams hahataw sa 3rd Shakey’s Girls Volleyball
MANILA, Philippines — Kabuuang 30 teams ang sasabak sa 3rd Shakey’s Girls Volleyball Invitational League (SGVIL) na magbubukas sa Mayo 28 sa La Salle Greenhills gym.
Pamumunuan ng nagdedepensang Adamson University ang 20 tropa sa Division 1, habang 10 bagong koponan ang bumubuo sa Division 2 ng torneong suportado ng Shakey’s Pizza Parlor, Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken, Potato Corner at R and B Milk Tea.
“We have additional teams joining our regular tournament and what’s new this year, in celebration of Shakey’s golden anniversary, is that we’re now having a Division 2. Since the start of the GVIL, numerous schools have expressed interest in participating, but with our format in the past two years, we could only accommodate a limited number of teams,” wika ni Dr. Ian Laurel, president ng SSL organizer Athletic Events and Sports Management, Inc. (ACES).
Kasama ng Lady Baby Falcons, tumalo sa Bacolod Tay Tung sa nakaraang season’s finale, sa Pool A ng Division 1 ang Lyceum of the Philippines University, Naga College Foundation, Emilio Aguinaldo College at University of Perpetual Help System DALTA.
Nasa Pool B ang Bacolod Tay Tung, Bethel Academy, De La Salle-Lipa, Chiang Kai Shek College at Holy Rosary College at magkakasama naman sa Pool C ang Kings’ Montessori High School, Arellano University, Corpus Christi School, inaugural champion California Academy at De La Salle-Zobel A.
Ang reigning UAAP titlist National University-Nazareth School, Far Eastern University-Diliman, St. John’s Institute-Bacolod, University of the Philippines Integrated School at University of Santo Tomas ay nasa Pool D.
Kasama sa Division 2, Pool E ang La Salle-Greenhills, Miriam College, De La Salle-Zobel B, Everest International Academy at Assumption College-San Lorenzo at nasa Pool F ang Assumption-Antipolo, St. Paul College-Pasig, St. Theresa College-QC, Domuschola International School at Immaculate Conception Academy.
Ang Division 1 preliminary round matches sa grassroots volleyball league na itinataguyod ng Mikasa, Asics, Team Rebel Sports, Belo Deo, Smart at Gcash bilang technical partners ay lalaruin sa best-of-three sets.
