Valdez proud sa pagbabalik sa PH team
MANILA, Philippines — Hindi maitago ni Creamline Cool Smashers team captain Alyssa Valdez ang saya nito na muling katawanin ang bansa sa isang international tournament.
Kasama ang Cool Smashers sa tatlong Pinoy teams na naglalaro sa AVC Women’s Champions League sa Philsports Arena sa Pasig City.
Kaya naman masaya si Valdez na muling makapagsuot ng jersey na may Philippine flag at mas lalo pa itong ginaganahan sa paglalaro.
“It really is an extra motivation having the flag on our chest and representing as well Creamline Cool Smashers. I have double motivation and inspiration to fight,” ani Valdez.
Halos hindi nakapaglaro si Valdez sa Game 3 ng finals ng Premier Volleyball League (PVL) sa pagitan ng Cool Smashers at Petro Gazz kamakailan.
Ngunit sa pagkakataong ito, isa si Valdez sa mga naasahan ng Cool Smashers sa kanilang unang pagsalang.
Nagtala si Valdez ng 10 puntos sa 29-27, 25-20, 25-19 panalo ng Cool Smashers kontra sa Jordan squad na Al Naser.
It’s just so nice to play always for the Philippines. We play like there’s no tomorrow all the time because these chances and opportunities are not given to us all the time, so we’re gonna grab it and try to represent the country well,” dagdag ni Valdez.
Hindi makapaniwala si Valdez na muli itong makakapaglaro suot ang jersey na may Philippine flag.
Maraming beses na itong naging miyembro ng national team na sumabak sa iba’t ibang international tournaments gaya ng Southeast Asian Games.
Huli itong naging bahagi ng national team noong 2023 SEA Games na ginanap sa Cambodia.
