Hangzhou Asiad Fun Run tagumpay
MANILA, Philippines — Matagumpay na naisagawa kahapon ng Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) ang Hangzhou Asian Games Fun Run na nilahukan ng 500 runners sa Tagaytay City.
Ito ay para sa ceremonial campaign na hangad i-promote ang quadrennial event na nakatakda sa Setyembre 23 hanggang Oktubre 8, ayon kay POC president at Tagaytay City Mayor Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino.
“We are proud that the POC, Tagaytay City and the country have become part of this symbolic fun run that not only helps promote the Asian Games but also reiterates the Philippines’ very important and historic role why these very games were organized more than a century ago,” ani Tolentino.
Kabilang sa mga tumakbo ay ang mga kumuha ng medalya sa nakaraang 32nd Southeast Asian Games sa Cambodia at mga kinatawan ng Hangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee (HAGOC) at Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).
Ang Pilipinas ang kinikilalang birth place ng Asian Games matapos idaos ang unang Far Eastern Olympic Games noong 1913 sa Malate area kung saan nakatayo ang makasaysayang Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.
“Everything’s perfect, Tagaytay City is perfect for this fun run,” ani Tolentino bago siya sinamahan ni HAGOC HR Director Chen Qiufang para sa pagpapakawala sa mga runners sa 6K, 3K at 1K categories.
