MANILA, Philippines — Binabalangkas na ng College of Saint Benilde ang magiging game plan nito sa Game 2 upang makahirit ng rubber match kontra sa defending champion Colegio de San Juan de Letran sa NCAA Season 98 men’s basketball tournament.

Aminado si Blazers head coach Charles Tiu na nangibabaw ang championship experience ng Knights na kitang-kita sa  Game 1 noong Linggo sa Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Nagwagi ang Letran sa iskor na 81-75 para makuha ang 1-0 bentahe sa best-of-three championship series.

“You can see they (Letran) are so ready for this moment, while my guys are kind of panicking and getting a bit out of focused, and in the big moments it is something that you can’t teach and they have to experience,” ani Tiu.

Umaasa si Tiu na maraming natutunan ang kanyang bataan sa series opener na magiging magandang karanasan nito bago sumabak sa krusyal na Game 2 sa Linggo sa Big Dome.

“So hoping next game maybe they calm down a bit more. They (Letran) are a championship team for a reason. So I don’t know why everybody, even Coach Bonnie even said kami ang favored. No way kami ang favored,” ani Tiu.

Ilan sa mga ipinunto ni Tiu ang free throws kung saan nagtala ang Blazers ng 4-of-11 kumpara sa 16-of-26 ng Knights.

“I think they got the free throw a bit too much. They had 26, we only had 11, and they’re more physical than us. And we couldn’t make our free throws either, so that didn’t help. Free throw namin di makashoot, sila they had dalawang lucky bounce pa sa free throw, tumama pa sa taas ng board,” ani Tiu.

Ngunit tapos na ang Game 1.

Kaya naman naka­sentro na ang lahat ng atensiyon sa importanteng laban nito sa Game 2 na inaasahang mas magiging pisikal lalo pa’t malaki ang nakataya sa laban.
