Brownlee lalaro sa Gilas sa Cambodia SEAG?

MANILA, Philippines — Plano rin ng Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas na iparada si naturalized pla­yer prospect Justin Brownlee sa 2023 Southeast Asian Games sa Cambodia bukod sa ikaanim at huling window ng 2023 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers na gaganapin dito sa bansa.

Ito ay ayon mismo kay Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) president Al Panlilio na bagama’t pinapaubaya ang desisyon sa Gilas Pilipinas head coaching staff ay inamin ang naturang posibilidad lalo na sa bigating schedule ng koponan sa 2023.

“I guess I have to leave it to the coaches but I think, for sure, we want to use Brownlee in the 6th window in February. We also have the SEAG tournament in early May. I think we can use him or Ange Kouame,” ani Panlilio sa Volunteers Program Launch para sa 2023 FIBA World Cup kahapon sa Novotel, Quezon City.

“Again, it depends on the coaches. But yes, ha­ving Justin there gives me a lot of comfort that we have, in a way, a resident import in our country together with Ange.”

Hindi pa opisyal na naturalized player ng Gilas si Brownlee subalit napipisil na umabot ito sa Window 6 sa Pebrero na gaganapin sa Philippine Arena at sa SEA Games sa Cambodia sa Mayo.

Sa ngayon kasi ay pa­sado na sa ikatlo’t hu­ling pagbasa ang House Bill No. 6224 para maging Filipino citizen ang Barangay Ginebra resident import na si Brownlee sa pamamagitan ng naturalization.

Sunod na dadaan si Brownlee sa proseso ng Senado matapos ang inis­yal na approval ng Senate Bill 1336 ni Sen. Ronald ‘Bato’ Dela Rosa at Se­nate Bill 1516 ni Sen. Sonny Angara.
