Powell emosyunal sa panalo ng Dragons
MANILA, Philippines — Hindi napigilan ni Bay Area Dragons import Myles Powell ang pagluha sa press room ilang minuto matapos isalpak ang buzzer-beating triple para sa kanilang 105-104 pagtakas sa NorthPort sa 2022 PBA Commissioner’s Cup noong Sabado sa MOA Arena sa Pasay City.
Ang pagiging emosyunal ng dating Philadelphia 76ers guard ay hindi dahil sa ipinasok niyang game-winner.
Kasalukuyan kasing nakakulong sa United States ang kapatid ni Powell.
“Just thinking about everything, the sacrifice, the crisis that my family is going through with my brother being locked up,” wika ng 25-anyos na si Powell na tumapos na may 37 points, 6 rebounds at 4 steals.
Nagsalpak din si Powell ng walong tres para igiya ang Dragons sa 2-0 panimula sa komperensya.
“Just thinking about my brother, like I said. I wish he was able to see that one,” dagdag ng undrafted player noong 2020 NBA Rookie Draft na pumirma ng two-way contract sa 76ers noong 2021 at nakita sa 11 laro ng Philadelphia.
Nauna nang humataw si Powell ng 41 points sa 133-87 pagmasaker ng Bay Area sa Blackwater noong Setyembre 21.
“You win by 45 points and everybody thinks you’re something you’re not and tonight, I think, shows everybody in this that this is going to be good basketball,” ani coach Brian Goorjian. “I mean... the teams playing us are fired up and want this bad, the crowd’s involved.”
