MANILA, Philippines — Magkaiba ang estilo ng San Miguel at Meralco na inaasahang magpapasakit ng ulo ng nagdedepensang TNT Tropang Giga pagdating sa best-of-seven championship series ng 2022 PBA Philippine Cup.

Isa sa Beermen at Bolts ang lalabanan ng Tropang Giga para sa korona.

“We all know the problem San Miguel presents with June Mar (Fajardo), with their size and their overall talent,” wika ni TNT coach Chot Reyes. “Meralco presents a different kind of problem with their scrappiness and the way they play defense.”

Sinibak ng Tropang Giga ang Magnolia Hotshots, 87-74, sa Game Six ng best-of-seven semifinals showdown papasok sa kanilang ikatlong sunod na All-Filipino Cup Finals.

Itinabla naman ng Bolts sa 3-3 ang kanilang serye ng Beermen para makapuwersa ng ‘winner-take-all’ Game Seven bukas.

“I think the fact that it’s 3-3 shows how even it is. Whoever it is, we’re really going to be tested,” sabi ng nine-time PBA champion coach.

Magkakaroon ang PLDT franchise ng five-day break bago sumalang sa PBA Finals.

Nasa kanyang ika-17 PBA Finals appearance, target ng 59-anyos na si Reyes ang kanyang pang-pitong Philippine Cup crown.

Kasalukuyang katabla ni Reyes si legendary Baby Dalupan sa kanilang tig-a­nim na All-Filipino Cup title.

“Maybe I’ll think about it much later if we get the chance. Right now, I’m really not thinking about it,” ani Reyes.
