Philippines BEST humakot ng 11 medalya

MANILA, Philippines — Magarbong tinapos ng Philippines BEST-Swim League Philippines ang kampanya nito tangan ang apat na ginto, apat na pilak at tatlong tansong medalya sa 10th Circle of Swimmers of Melun Val de Seine na ginanap sa Piscine de Melun swimming pool sa Melun, France.

Pinakamaningning si Brent International School standout Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh na humataw ng dalawang ginto at isang pilak na medalya sa wo­men’s 16-17 division.

Nagreyna ang 15-an­yos na si Mojdeh sa 100m butterfly (1:04.27) at 200m butterfly (2:20.85) habang nakapilak ito sa 400m Individual Medley (5:12.03).

Galing naman ang da­lawa pang ginto mula kina Julia Ysabelle Basa at Ivan Nicholas Radovan sa kani-kanyang paboritong events.

Namayagpag si Basa sa women’s 14-15 100m butterfly (1:11.13) habang nasikwat ni Radovan ang ginto sa men’s 17-18 200m butterfly (2:10.28).

“This is still part of our grassroot program for our elite swimmers as we continue to hone their ability to compete overseas. This is such a great experience for them in preparation for major meets in the future,” ani Philippines BEST-Swim League Philippines team manager Joan Mojdeh.

Nakasiguro naman ng dalawang pilak si Hugh Antonio Parto sa men’s 15-16 200m butterfly (2:13.48) at 100m butterfly (59.55).

May pilak din sina Jordan Ken Lobos sa men’s 200m breaststroke (2:22.66) at Lance Argel Lotino sa men’s 50m breaststroke (31.70).

Galing ang huling tanso kay Yohan Mikhail Cabana sa men’s 100m backstroke (1:03.11).

“We aim to qualify next year in SEA Games and Asian Games and hopefully soon the World Cham­pionship and Olympics. I believe that if we continue this program we are on the right track. This is of course what I have learned from the legend Coach Susan Papa as this grassroot formula is  what I have learned from her,” dagdag ni Mojdeh.
