EJ tinabla ng PATAFA sa World Championships
MANILA, Philippines — Hindi si pole vaulter Ernest John Obiena ang pinagkaitan ng Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association (PATAFA) ng tsansang maipakita ang husay ng mga Pinoy sa world stage kundi ang bansa.
Nagsara na ang pintuan para sa pagpapalista sa bigating World Athletics Indoor Championship sa Belgrade, Serbia at hindi nakasama ang World No. 5 pole vaulter.
“Country has not been put first by all. Country comes after personal considerations for some. This is more than unfortunate. The nation pays the price,” ani Obiena sa kanyang Facebook page.
Hindi binigyan ng PATAFA ang Southeast Asian Games at Asian meet record-holder ng endorsement para makasali sa world meet na nakatakda sa Marso 18-20.
“I have not been endorsed for the Worlds. Registration is now closed. I won’t be attending. I am the only top-ranked vaulter not participating,” ani Obiena.
Wala rin ang pangalan ni Obiena sa national team na ilalaban sa 31st SEA Games sa Hanoi, Vietnam sa Mayo 12-23.
