MANILA, Philippines — Inaprubahan ng Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) ang training at scrimmages ng PBA teams na magsasanay sa General Community Quarantine (GCQ) at Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) areas, ayon sa anunsiyo ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque sa press briefing ng Palasyo.

Nakasaad sa IATF Resolution No. 114 ang desisyon na naglalaman ng: “Approving the request of the Philippine Basketball Association to conduct its scrimmages and practice in areas under GCQ and MGCQ.”

Pupulungin ni PBA commissioner Willie Marcial ang lahat ng teams sa susunod na linggo upang talakayin ng magiging health protocols.

Sa oras na makumpleto na ang mga requirements, agad na masisimulan ang ensayo ng mga teams sa Mayo 18. Susundin ng bawat team ang health protocols na nakasaad sa Joint Administrative Order (JAO) ng Games and Amusements Board, Philippine Sports Commission at Department of Health gayundin ang sariling patakarang ipinatutupad ng local government unit na pagdarausan ng ensayo.

“We were told by LGU leaders to shore up our protocols. But we assured that we actually have stringent measures,” ani Marcial. “We’re looking to adopt new testing protocols.”

Bago sumalang sa ensayo, sasailalim ang lahat ng players, coaches, officials at staff sa swab test para matiyak na ligtas ang lahat.

Nilinaw ni Marcial na wala munang tune-up games. Sesentro lamang ang training camp ng bawat koponan sa kanilang team – walang ibang teams na maaaring makisabay sa training.

Ang mga gagamiting training venue ang Batangas City, Subic, Ilocos Norte at Pampanga.

Sa Batangas, closed-circuit format ang gagamitin o ang home-venue-home format.
