VisMin Cup Mindanao leg sinuspindi ng GAB

MANILA, Philippines — Inihayag ng GAB ang desisyon kahapon matapos ang kontrobersiyang kinasangkutan ng liga sa laban ng Siquijor Mystics at ARQ Lapu-Lapu Heroes noong nakaraang linggo.

“We are in the process of investigation and seriously looking into the allegations of wrongdoing. The board would like to further observe the ongoing Visayas leg before giving a go signal for the other,” ayon sa statement ni GAB chairman Baham Mitra.

Kabilang sa mga sasabak sana sa Mindanao leg ang Basilan Peace Riders, Cagayan De Oro Rafters, Zamboanga Los Valientes, Pagadian Explorers, Roxas Vanguards, Sindagan Saints, Valencia City, Bukidnon at Ozamis.

Magpapatuloy naman ang ginaganap na Visayas leg subalit bantay-sarado na ito ng mga kinatawan ng GAB na nasa loob din ng bubble sa Cebu.

Maliban sa pagsuspinde sa Mindanao leg, sasai-lalim din ang buong liga sa re-evaluation ng GAB.

“In the meantime, GAB is reviewing the official reports of its field officers in the bubble and that of the league to determine the administrative liability of the licensees as well as the possibility of proceeding with criminal charges if warranted by the circumstances,” ayon pa kay Mitra.

Nais lamang ng GAB na masiguro ang integridad ng mga professional leagues na nasasakupan nito. “Our mandate is to ensure the integrity of professional sports/welfare of players and were doing just that,” ani Mitra.

Matatandaang pinatawan ng ban ng VisMin Super Cup organizers ang buong Siquijor team ngunit nakaligtas sa parusa ang dalawang players ng Siquijor na sina Miguel Castellano at Mike Sereno na hindi kasama sa kontrobersiyal na laro.
