National sports summit itutuloy ng PSC via online

MANILA, Philippines — Isa ang National Sports Summit sa mga programa ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) na hindi natuloy noong nakaraang taon dahil sa coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

Ayon kay PSC chairman William ‘Butch’ Ramirez, kailangang mai­daos ito ngayong taon via online sa kabila ng kinakaharap pa ring pandemya.

“We wanted to push through with this because we know it will be useful to know where we are now from where we were almost three decades ago,” wika ni Ramirez sa nasabing three-part program na sisimulan sa Enero 27. “It will help see the road ahead of us and navigate it better.”

Layunin ng sports summit na madetermina ang kasalukuyang estado ng Philippine sports para ma­kagawa ng mga bagong resolusyon.

Inilunsad ang National Sports Summit noong 1992 kung saan 38 resolusyon ang inilatag sa hangaring mapabuti ang national sports environment sa bansa.

May 25 sports topics naman ang tatalakayin sa 2021 edition na sisimulan ng ‘Sports Conversations’.

Magiging bisita sa first batch ng sesyon sina United Sports Aca­demy (USSA) president T.J. Rosandich, Philippine Sports Institute (PSI) Dean of Philippine Sports Henry Daut, DAVNOR Sports Development Head Giovanni Gulanes at UP professor Tessa Jazmines.

Nagpatala na para sa sports summit ang halos 1,000 registrants na kina­bi­bilangan ng mga sports e­ducators, athletes, c­oaches, LGU coordinators, national sports associations at private stakeholders.
