FIBA 3x3 Olympic Qualifying posibleng idaos sa Agosto
MANILA, Philippines — Dahil sa coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic ay ipinagpaliban ng FIBA, ang international basketball federation, ang pagdaraos ng FIBA 3x3 Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
Mula sa orihinal na petsang Marso 18-22 sa Bengaluru, India ay posibleng gawin ang dalawa sa limang legs ng nasabing 3x3 World Tour sa Agosto at Oktubre.
Nauna nang inilipat ang pagsasagawa ng Tokyo Olympic Games sa Hulyo 23 ng susunod na taon bunga ng COVID-19 pandemic.
“The (FIBA) Central Board announced that it will continue its discussions with the IOC (International Olympic Committee (IOC) in order to find the best solution for the scheduling of the remaining Olympic qualifying tournaments (including two for 3x3),” pahayag ng FIBA sa kanilang official statement.
“FIBA will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation on a daily basis and evaluate the options for the lifting of the suspension of competitions when the situation allows for it,” wika pa ng FIBA.
Sina PBA players CJ Perez ng Columbian at Moala Tautuaa ng San Miguel kasama sina Joshua Munzon at Alvin Pasaol ang bumubuo sa Philippine 3x3 team.
Binanderahan nina Perez at Tautuaa ang Gilas Pilipinas 3x3 team na kumopo sa gold medal ng nakaraang 30th Southeast Asian Games noong 2019.
Tinapik ng Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) si Serbian coach Stefani Stojic katuwang si conditioning coach Darko Krsman para sa training program ng tropa.
