PSC ikinasa na ang proseso sa pagpili ng Hall of Fame
MANILA, Philippines — Inilatag na ng Philippine Sports Commission ang proseso para sa pagpili ng mga kandidato sa 2020 Philippine Sports Hall of Fame.
Si PSC chairman William “Butch” Ramirez ang chairman ng PSHF committee habang si Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Abraham Tolentino naman ang vice-chairman.
Nakatakdang mag-usap sina Ramirez at Tolentino kasama ang ibang miyembro ng committee ngayong araw sa Philsports Complex sa Pasig City upang talakayin ang criteria ng nominasyon at screening committee para sa ika-apat na enshrinement ng Hall of Fame.
“We want to get a good lead time since the selection process is an arduous exercise. We have a lot of athletes truly deserving to be enshrined in this Hall of Fame,” pahayag ni Ramirez.
Kabilang sa dadalo sa pagtitipon sina Games and Amusement Board (GAB) Chairman Abraham Mitra, Philippine Olympic Committee Secretary-General Atty. Edwin Gastanes, Integrated Cycling Federation of the Philippines Secretary-General Atty. Avelino Sumagui, University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Executive Director Atty. Rene Saguisag Jr., at SEA Games gold medallist at Philippine Olympians Association President Akiko Thomson Guevara.
Ang HOF ay nakasaad sa Republic Act No. 8757 bilang pagbibigay pugay sa mga deserving Filipino athletes, coaches at trainors na nakapagbigay karangalan sa bansa sa international competitions.
