Abap desididong maging host

MANILA, Philippines — Inilabas na ng International Olympic Committee (IOC) Boxing Task Force ang bagong petsa ng 2020 Asia-Oceania Olympic qualifying tournament ng boxing.

Ayon sa IOC Boxing Task Force, sa Marso 3 hanggang 11 ang magi­ging bagong schedule ng Olympic qualifiers mula sa orihinal na petsang Peb­rero 3 hanggang 14.

Nagdesisyon ang IOC Boxing Task Force na kanselahin ang naturang event sa Wuhan, China dahil sa pagkalat ng mapanganib na coronavirus.

“In the best interest of athletes and officials – after a careful studies and thorough consultations – the BTF and COC (Chinese Olympic Committee) jointly decided to cancel the Asian-Oceania Tokyo 2020 boxing qualifying event which was due to take place in the Chinese City,” ayon sa statement ng IOC Boxing Task Force.

Inihayag ng Association of Boxing Alliances in the Philippines (ABAP) na handang-handa ang Pilipinas na saluhin ang h­osting ng naturang Olympic qualifiers dahil may mga world-class venues itong prosibleng pagdausan ng torneo.

Tinukoy ni ABAP secretary general Ed Picson ang Rizal Memorial Sports Complex, Ninoy Aquino Stadium at Philsports Arena sa mga maaaring gamitin.
