Sports icons magbibigay ng inspirasyon sa Team PH sa SEAG
MANILA, Philippines — Magbibigay ng inspirasyon sina Olympic medalists Mansueto ‘Onyok’ Velasco Jr. at Pol Serrantes ng boxing sa mga atletang sasabak sa 30th Southeast Asian Games.
Panauhin sina Velasco at Serrantes sa Team Philippines Send-off Ng Bayan na idaraos ngayong araw sa Ninoy Aquino Stadium sa Manila.
Imbitado rin sina bowling hall of famers Paeng Nepomuceno at Bong Coo gayundin sina Asia’s first chess grandmaster Eugene Torre, track and field icons Lydia De Vega-Mercado at Elma Muros-Posadas.
Nais ng mga sports legends na bigyan ng inspirasyon ang 1,115 Filipino athletes mula sa 56 sports na magtutulong tulong upang mabawi ng Pilipinas ang overall title.
“Our athletes are the heart and soul of the country’s campaign in the Olympics,’’ ani Team Philippines chef de mission at Philippine Sports Commission Chairman William “Butch” Ramirez.
Dadalo rin sa programa sina Philippine Olympic Committee president Abraham Tolentino at House Speaker at Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee chairman Alan Peter Cayetano kasama sina Senator Bong Go na Chairman ng Senate Committee on Sports at Manila City Mayor Francisco Moreno Domagoso.
Magtatanghal si Bamboo sa send-off ceremony kasama sina Johnny Cross at The Juans and Silent Sanctuary.
