MANILA, Philippines — Sa medal projections ng mga National Sports Associations para sa darating na 30th Southeast Asian Games ay 200 gold me­dals ang idineklara nilang makokolekta sa lalahukang 45 sa kabuuang 56 sports events.

Kumpiyansa si Philippine Sports Commission chairman William ‘Butch’ Ramirez na mapapatotohanan ito ng mga NSAs pagdating ng nasabing bien­nial event na nakatakda sa Nobyembre 30 hanggang Disyembre 11.

“I will leave that one as sacred, but it’s a very good number,” sabi ni Ramirez kahapon sa isang pa­nayam. “I’m excited. Let’s see if those number will be delivered on the day of the competitions.”

Nagdeklara ang athle­tics na kaya nilang magtakbo ng 13 gold me­dals sa 2019 SEA Games kasunod ang arnis (11), dancesports (10), gymnastics (9), wushu (8), skateboarding (8), muay thai (7), Brazilian jijitsu (6), judo (6), taekwondo (5), triathlon at duathlon (5), basketball (4) at billiards (4).

Una at huling naging overall champion ng SEA Games ang Pilipinas noong 2005 edition na idinaos sa Maynila kung saan humakot ang mga Pinoy athletes ng kabuuang 112 gold, 85 silver at 93 bronze medals.

Sa kasaysayan ng SEA Games, inilunsad noong 1977 mula sa pagiging Southeast Asian Peninsular Games noong 1958, ay wala pang miyembro na nakakolekta ng 200 gintong medalya.

Ang pinakamaraming nahakot ay ang Indonesia sa bilang na 194 gold me­dals noong 1997 matapos ng 185 noong 1987 kasunod ang Thailand (183) noong 2007, Indonesia (182) noong 2011, Vietnam (158) noong 2003 at Malaysia (145) noong 2017.
