MANILA, Philippines — Maliban sa darating na 30th Southeast Asian Games ay gagamitin din ng Philippine Sports Commission ang ipinapaayos na mga sports facilities sa mga susunod pang kompetisyon.

Ito ang direktiba ni Pa­ngulong Rodrigo Duterte kay PSC chairman William “Butch” Ramirez.

Ayon kay Ramirez, bubuksan nila ang mga government sports facilities para sa mga local at international tournament at maging sa mga collegiate leagues kagaya ng University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) at National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

“I was instructed by the President to rehabilitate these sports facilities for the benefit of the athletes,” wika ng PSC chief. “These rehabilitation projects are part of his master plan when he decided to seek the Presidency in 2016.”

Inaasahan ni Ramirez na matatapos ang rehabilitasyon ng Rizal Memorial Sports Complex sa Manila, ang Philsports Sports Complex sa Pasig City at ang Teachers Camp sa Baguio City bago ang Nobyembre 15.

Ang disenyo ay ayon sa plano ng National Historical Commission, nagdeklara sa 92-year-old Rizal Memorial Sports Complex bilang isang National Historical Landmark at isang Important Cultural Property.

Nakatakda ang 2019 SEAG sa Nobyembre 30 hanggang Disyembre 11 sa Clark, Subic, Metro Manila at Tagaytay City.

Ang Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) sa pamamagitan ni chairwoman Andrea Domingo at President and Chief Operating Officer Alfredo Lim ang nagpopondo sa rehabilitasyon ng mga government sports facilities.
