Sa Palaro Cluster Meet

MANILA, Philippines — Nagningning si Philippine Swimming League (PSL) standout Rio Lorenzo Malapitan nang humakot ito ng apat na gintong medalya sa 2019 Calapan City Private Schools Cluster Meet na ginanap sa Oriental Mindoro National High School swimming pool sa Calapan, Mindoro.

Unang namayagpag si Malapitan sa 50m freestyle matapos magtala ng impresibong 27.30 segundo na sinundan nito ng isa pang gintong medalya sa 50m butterfly bunsod ng nairehistro nitong 28.70 segundo.

Muling umariba si Malapitan nang pagharian pa nito ang kaniyang dala­wang huling events – ang 50m breaststroke (30.80) at 50m backstroke (33.50) para makumpleto ang matamis na sweep sa lahat ng kaniyang apat na events.

Bago sumalang sa Cluster Meet, sumailalim si Malapitan ng dalawang linggong training camp sa ilalim ng paggabay ni PSL president at multi-titled veteran coach Alexandre Papa.

“We had a two-week training camp, we just corrected some strokes and underwent strength and conditioning process. We’re happy that he improved a lot after the camp,” pahayag ni Papa.

Pinaghahandaan ni Malapitan ang pagsabak nito sa 2020 Palarong Pambansa.

Sunod na sasalang si Malapitan sa Calapan City Meet sa Nobyembre 21 hanggang 22 na magsisilbing qualifying tournament para sa Palarong Pambansa.
