Team Pacquiao pipili ng magandang laban
MANILA, Philippines — Hindi puwedeng ura-urada ang coaching staff sa pagdedesisyon para sa susunod na laban ni reigning World Boxing Association super welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao.
Sinabi nina Hall of Famer Freddie Roach at strength and conditioning expert Justin Fortune na kailangang pag-aralan itong mabuti ng buong Team Pacquiao at kilatising maigi ang sunod na makakalaban ng Pinoy champion.
Wala pang malinaw na pangalan sa kasalukuyan dahil ninanamnam pa ng Team Pacquiao ang tagumpay laban kay American Keith Thurman.
“We have nobody in mind right now. But we have to really, really sit down, everything settles, and make a good decision of who’s next,” wika ni Roach sa panayam ng Bad Left Hook.
Lutang na lutang ang pangalan nina International Boxing Federation welterweight king Errol Spence at World Boxing Council welterweight titlist Shawn Porter na magtutuos sa unification bout sa Setyembre 28 sa Staples Center sa Los Angeles, California.
Nagbigay ng babala si Roach na hindi birong makalaban ang dalawang boksingero.
“The thing is those are really, really hard fights. We know those guys are out there, yes. And we know we want to be the best in this division, and we’re not just fighting for fun, you know?” sabi ni Roach.
Bukas pa rin ang pintuan ni Roach sa posibilidad na rematch nina Pacquiao at retired fighter Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
“So if like Mayweather comes around, great. But if he doesn’t, Spence, ‘Bud’ Crawford, those guys. I mean young guys doing really well and very, very tough fights,” ani Roach.
Mas gusto naman ni Fortune na makaharap ni ‘Pacman’ si Porter.
“Porter yeah for sure we can handle him, but Spence is different and we have to sit down really and they have to look at him. I don’t know him that much honestly. We have to discuss it with Buboy Fernandez and Freddie,” sabi ni Fortune.
