MANILA, Philippines — Anuman ang gulong nangyayari sa loob ng Phi­lip­pine Olympic Committee ay hindi dapat madamay ang pamamahala ng bansa sa 30th Southeast Asian Games.

Inihayag kahapon ni Philipine Sports Commission chairman William ‘Butch’ Ramirez na walang magiging hadlang sa pag­da­raos ng nasabing biennial event na nakatakda sa Nobyembre 30 hanggang Disyembre 11 sa iba’t ibang venues.

Ito ay sa kabila ng is­yu sa liderato ng POC ma­ta­pos magbitiw si Ricky Var­gas bilang pangulo.

“He is aware of the issues hounding Philppine sports and insisted that we expend our energies to­wards our athletes’ prepa­ra­tion for the games, and that issues of the Philippine Olympic Committee be left to be solved within their ranks,” wika ni Ramirez sa si­nabi sa kanya ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.

Sa pagbaba ni Vargas sa puwesto ay humalili naman si Joey Romasanta pa­ra umaktong presidente ng POC.

Ayon kay Romasanta, ang lahat ng desisyon tungkol sa 2019 SEA Games ay dapat magmu­la sa kanya at hindi sa Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (Phisgoc) Foundation, Inc.

“We pray that for the sake of our athletes, and Phi­lippine sports, you can all come to a resolution so we could all focus our 100% on the big tasks at hand,” ani Ramirez.
