Mojdeh, Cabayaran bumasag ng Palaro record

MANILA, Philippines — Nagsalo sa eksena sina National Capital Region bet Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh at Western Visayas pride Alexi Kouzenye Cabayaran matapos bumasag ng meet records sa 2019 Palarong Pambansa sa Davao City-University of the Philippines Aquatic Center.

Sinira ng 12-anyos na si Mojdeh ang five-year old record para sa bago niyang 2:22.69 sa secondary girls’ 200m butterfly finals.

Binura ni Mojdeh ang 2:25.21 meet record ni Suzanne Vermon Himor noong 2014.

Tinalo ni Mojdeh sina NCR’s Althea Baluyut (2:25.09) at Calabarzon’s Francheska Alterado (2:31.12).

“Masaya po ako na na­ka-break ako ng record kahit kakapasok ko lang po ng high school. I dedicate my swim to coach Susan Papa. This is for you coach,” ani Mojdeh, kumuha ng silver medal sa secondary girls’ 50m butterfly event.

Lalangoy pa si Mojdeh sa 200m individual medley, 200m breaststroke, 100m butterfly, 4x100m medley at 4x50m freestyle.

Sa kabilang banda, nagposte naman si Cabayaran ng bilis na 2:15.76 sa e­lementary girls’ 12-under 200-meter freestyle para itapon ang 2018 Palaro mark na 2:16.72 ni Imee Joyce Saavedra sa UP-Mindanao Sports Complex.

“I’m very happy and proud,” sabi ng 12-anyos na incoming Grade 7 student sa Mambulac Elementary School sa Silay City, Bacolod na kumuha ng 3 gold, 2 silver at 1 bronze medals noong 2018 Palarong Pambansa sa Vigan, Ilocos Sur.

Lumangoy din ng ginto sina Marc Bryan Dula (29.67) ng National Capital Region sa elementary boys’ 50m butterfly; Camille Lauren Buico (29.06) ng NCR sa HS girls’ 50m butterfly; Nimrod Montera (2:14.18) ng Northern Mindanao sa elementary boys’ 200m freestyle; Miguel Barreto (4:08.68) ng NCR sa HS boys’ 400m freestyle; Janelle Lin (4:40.97) ng Ilocos Region sa HS girls’ 400m freestyle at Triza Tabamo (30.59) ng Central Luzon sa elementary girls’ 50m butterfly.
