Mighty Sports palalakasin nina Odom, Brownlee sa Dubai meet

MANILA, Philippines — Isang malakas na tropa ang ipaparada ng Mighty Sports sa Dubai International Basketball Tournament na lalarga sa Pebrero sa susunod na taon.

Kinuha ng Mighty Sports ang serbisyo nina NBA veteran Lamar Odom at Ginebra resident import Justin Brownlee upang pa­lakasin ang kanilang tropa.

Mismong si Odom ang nagsiwalat ng magandang balita sa kanyang Instagram account kung saan sabik na itong maging bahagi ng Philippine team na sasalang sa Dubai tournament na lalahukan ng Middle East teams.

Ito ang ikalawang pagkakataon na lalahok ang Mighty Sports sa Middle East event.

Nauna na itong sumalang may dalawang taon na ang nakalilipas kasama rin si Browlee bilang import.

Nais pa ni Mighty Sports team owner Caesar Wongchuking na magdagdag ng ilan pang NBA veterans para higit pang palakasin ang lineup nito.

“We welcome Mr. Lamar Odom to the Mighty Sports family. It’s a great honor to have such a great player to be part of our team representing the Philippines. My thanks to coach Charles Tiu and payer agent Sheryl Reyes,” ani Wongchuking.

Kasama rin si American Randolf Morris na naglaro para sa Beijing Ducks sa Chinese Basketball Association. Maganda ang rekord ni Odom sa NBA.

Naglaro ito para sa LA Lakers kasama si superstar Kobe Bryant kung saan nagkampeon ang kanilang koponan noong 2009 at 2010.

Naging bahagi rin si Odom ng US Dream Team sa 2004 Olympics at sa 2010 FIBA World Championship.

Target din ni Wongchuking na imbitahan sina collegiate stars Santi Santillan ng De La Salle University at Juan Gomez de Liano ng University of the Philippines gayundin sina Gab Banal at Joseph Yeo.

“We hope to add star power to the team because we have lots of fans in Dubai,” ani  Wongchuking.
