Digong dinagdagan ang incentives ng Asiad medalists

MANILA, Philippines — Kagaya ng inaasahan, magbibigay si Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte ng karagdagang cash incentives para sa mga Pinoy athletes na kumolekta ng 4 gold, 2 silver at 15 bronze medals sa katatapos na 18th Asian Games sa Indonesia.

“The President through the Office of SAP (Special Assistant to the President) Bong Go was motivating me that the President will add P1 million each to the gold medalists,” wika kahapon ni Philippine Sports Commission chairman William ‘Butch’ Ramirez.

Magbibigay ang Pa­ngulo ng P1 milyon para sa gold medal sa 2018 Asian Games habang P500,000 at P200,000 para sa silver at bronze medalists.

Ang mga kumolekta ng apat na gintong medalya sa 2018 Asiad ay sina weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz, golfers Yuka Saso (individual event), Bianca Pagdanganan at Lois Kaye Go (team event) at Cebuana skateboarder Margielyn Didal.

Sa Republic Act 10699 (National Athletes and Coaches Benefits Act), ang gold medal winner sa Asian Games ay tatanggap ng P2 milyon  habang P1 milyon at P400,000 para sa silver at bronze medalists, ayon sa pagkakasunod.

Nangako naman si Phi­lippine Olympic Committee president Ricky Vargas ng P2 milyon para sa gold, P500,000 para sa silver at P300,000 para sa bronze medal habang ang Siklab Atleta Foundation ni Dennis Uy ay nagdagdag ng P1 milyon sa gold, P500,000 sa silver at P250,000 sa bronze.

Si Philippine Ambassador sa Indonesia na si Lee Hoong Wee ay nangako ring magbibigay ng P1 milyon para sa mga gold medalist.

Ang mga silver meda­lists ay sina Kiyomi Watanabe (judo) at Rogen Ladon (boxing) habang ang mga bronze medalists ay sina Dustin Mella, Jeordan Dominguez at Rodolfo Reyes Jr. (men’s poomsae team), Janna Oliva, Juvenile Crisostomo at Rinna Babanto (women’s poomsae team), Agatha Wong at Divine Wally (wushu), Pauline Lopez (taekwondo),  Marga­rita Ochoa (jiujitsu), Daniel Caluag (BMX), Jeffersson Loon at Dines Dumaan, Almohaidib Abad at Cherry May Regalado (pencak silat), Bianca Pagdanganan (golf), Junna Tsukii (karate), Carlo Paalam at Eumir Marcial (boxing).

Nakatakda ang pagbibigay ni Pangulong Duterte ng cash incentive sa Setyembre 12 sa Malacañang, ayon kay Ramirez.

“I also instructed Executive Director (Merly Ibay) to fast track the certification of athletes that are certified coaches para puwedeng isabay na rin ang incentives ng coaches,” dagdag ni Ramirez.
