Aklanon tankers 15 ginto ang tangay

DUMAGUETE  , Philippines  —   Mu­ling nagdomina ang Aklan sa swimming pool, habang itinakbo ng isang double-gold medalist sa Palarong Pambansa ang kanyang ikaapat na gintong medalya sa athletics event ng 2017 Batang Pinoy Visayas Leg kahapon.

Sa pagsasara ng swimming competition sa Lorenzo G. Teves Memorial Aqua Center ay kumolekta ang Aklan ng kabuuang 15 gold, 10 silver at 4 bronze medals.

Tampok sa dominas­yon ng Aklan ang tig-limang gintong medalya nina Kyla Soguilon, ang top swimmer ng Philippine Swimming League, sa girls’ 13-15 years old at Jennuel Booh De Leon sa boys’ 12-under category  habang nagdag­dag ng tatlo si Michael Gabriel Lozada sa boys’ 12-under class.

“I’m going to prepare for the EVRAA (Eastern Visayas Regional Athletic Association) and the 2018 Palarong Pambansa,”  pahayag  ni Soguilon, mag­diriwang ng kanyang ika-13 kaa­rawan sa Nob­yembre 28.

Bukod kina Soguilon at De Leon, ang iba pang sumisid ng limang ginto ay sina Chloe Sophia Laurente ng Ormoc City sa girls’ 12-under, Angel Lynn Docabo ng Bohol sa girls’ 13-15 yrs old at Gabriel Manigque ng Tagbilaran City sa boy’s 13-15 yrs old bracket.

Ang Ormoc City at Bacolod City ay may tig-8 gold medals kasunod ang tig-7 ng host Dumaguete City at Bohol.

Sa athletics sa Gov. Mariano Perdices Memorial Stadium, inangkin naman ni Rick Angelo Sotto ng Cebu City ang kanyang ikaapat na gintong  medalya matapos bumandera sa 4x100m relay (47.3) kasama sina Jomar Cumabig, Jake  A­ngelo Dagatan at Rex  Amamangpang.

Nauna nang naghari ang 14-anyos na si Sotto, double-gold medal winner noong 2016 Palarong Pambansa sa Legazpi, Albay, sa boys’ triple jump (13.57), long jump (6.29m) at high jump (1.67m).
