Pinoy jins tututukan ang Asiad, 2020 Olympics

MANILA, Philippines - Matapos ang kampanya sa 2017 Southeast Asian Games, sunod na isesentro ng Philippine Taekwondo Association (PTA) ang atensiyon nito sa mas malala­king international tournament gaya ng Asian Games sa 2018 at Olympics sa 2020.

Nakatakda ring su­malang ang Pinoy jins sa Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG) na gaganapin sa Ashgabat, Turkmenistan sa Setyembre 17- 27, ayon kay national coach Dindo Simpao.

Magandang pagkakataon aniya ang AIMAG upang makita ang mga posibleng makalaban ng national  team sa Asian Games.

“We don’t have time because the AIMAG and other qualifying events for the World Championships and Olympics are drawing near. Of course, we need to prepare the athletes and keep them in good condition. We have to avoid injuries and prepare for these upcoming tournaments,” ani Simpao.

Tinapos ng 12-man taek­wondo squad ang kampanya nito sa SEA Games hawak ang dalawang ginto, tatlong pilak at tatlong tansong medalya - kapos ng isang ginto kumpara sa kanilang nakuha noong 2015 Singapore Games.
