No. 1 table tennis player ng US kampeon sa PTTA tourney
MANILA, Philippines – Nasilayan ang galing ng number one US table tennis player na si Daniel Picciotto nang pagharian niya ang NRG Philippine Table Tennis Academy Tournament kamakailan sa Mandaluyong City.
Ang 2011 New York Open at 2012 Easter Open champion ay nagdomina laban kay Miho Tolopia ng Captains Table Tennis, 3-1 sa finals.
Bago sumali sa torneo ay ipinamahagi muna ni Picciotto ang kaalaman sa mga batang manlalaro sa pagtuturo sa tamang istilo ng paglalaro sa imbitasyon ng PTTA.
Ang PTTA ay kauna-unahang table tennis school sa bansa na ang hangarin ay humubog ng mga batang edad 6 hanggang 10 taon na maging isang world-class paddlers sa hinaharap.
“It is important to be as prepared as possible for every tournament,” wika ni Picciotto. “These kids are the future and it takes a lot of practice and guidance from local and international trainers and coaches.”
Ang PTTA ay binuhay ni Ernesto “Jon” Ebuen na dating national player at isa rin sa mga tinitingalang coach sa US.
“The PTTA will be the center of excellence for the sport in the country as it aims to elevate table tennis as a sport of choice for Filipinos and enable the youth to became at par with the world’s best,” wika ni Ebuen.
