Mer Layson - Pilipino Star Ngayon

“I will always push for the amendment of the law. The party-list law needs to be amended, I believe even party-list organizations will always aspire to a new law to reflect the true sentiments of marginalized and underrepresented sectors,” ayon kay Comelec Chairperson George Garcia, sa isang pulong balitaan kahapon.

Ang tinutukoy ni Garcia ay ang Republic Act No. 7491 o The Party-list System law, na nilagdaang batas noong 1995 ng yumaong si dating Pang. Fidel V. Ramos.

“Some say that the party-list is no longer marginalized and underrepresented. In the end, that is what the law should be”, paliwanag ni Garcia.
