7 araw na gun ban sa NCR ipinatutupad dahil sa SONA
MANILA, Philippines — Pitong araw na gun ban ang ipinatutupad ng Philippine National Police (PNP) sa buong National Capital Region (NCR) upang tiyakin ang seguridad kaugnay ng gaganaping huli o pinal na State of the Nation Address (SONA) ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, bukas (Hulyo 26), ayon sa opisyal kahapon.
Kasabay nito, inihayag din ni PNP Chief P/General Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar na 15,000 pulis ang idedeploy sa SONA ni Pangulong Duterte upang mangalaga sa peace and order sa nasabing okasyon.
Ayon kay Eleazar , ipinag-utos niya na suspendido muna ang Permit to Carry Firearmas Outside of Residence (PTCFOR) sa NCR na bagaman nitong Sabado lamang inianunsyo ay epektibo ito dakong alas-8 ng umaga nitong Hulyo 21 at hanggang Hulyo 28 ganap na alas-8 ng umaga.
“It’s part of the security preparations for President Rodrigo Duterte’s final SONA and to ensure that the SONA will be free from firearms-related incidents and protect the safety of the public”, pahayag ni Eleazar.
Nilinaw naman ni Eleazar na tanging ang security forces lamang ang exempted o maaaring magdala ng mga armas.
“Only members of PNP, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) who are performing official duties and in agency-prescribed uniform will be allowed to carry firearms,” mariing utos ng PNP Chief.
Inatasan ni Eleazar ang lahat ng mga District Directors ng PNP sa Metro Manila na sa deployment ng kabuuang 15,000 pulis sa mga istratehikong lugar ay mahigpit na ipatupad ng police anti-criminality at police visibility operations .
