Kalidad ng edukasyon sa QC, palalakasin

MANILA, Philippines — Bilang tugon sa mga ulat na may mga high school student sa ilang public school sa Quezon City na hindi pa rin sana’y sumulat o bumasa, nangako si Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte na palalakasin ang kalidad ng edukasyon sa lungsod sa pamama­gitan ng paglalaan ng mga proyekto para sa mga mag-aaral at guro sakaling maluklok bilang alkalde.

 “As vice mayor, I have always made education one of my top priorities in my projects as well as in the ordinances we have passed in the city council. The public school teachers know this because, when they asked for the city’s help for their allowances and benefits, I aided them in whatever capacity I could and continue to do so,” ani Belmonte.

 Ayon pa sa kanya, pauunlarin din niya ang ilang serbisyo sa edukasyon kabilang na ang pagtaguyod sa early childhood education at iba pang programang makatutulong hindi lang sa mga estudyante kundi pati sa mga guro, mga magulang at maging sa mga non-teaching personnel.

 “Here in our city, we need to commit more resources to invest in early childhood education, to create programs to make more parents involved and to give our teachers the compensation they. And, of course, we will do this in close collaboration with the Department of Education and Division of City Schools,” dagdag ni Belmonte.

Kamakailan ay naaprubahan ng QC council ang ordinansang nagtatakda ng karagdagang P500 sa quarterly rice allowance ng lahat ng school personnel bukod pa sa pagtaas sa longevity pay ng mga guro at karagdagang P500 sa monthly supplemental allowance ng mga ito.
