Senate President Francis Escudero has written to the parties involved to prepare for the convening of the impeachment court on June 3 for the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte.

Insisting it violated no laws, the Bagong Henerasyon party-list in the House of Representatives yesterday called on the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to proclaim them soonest and lift the suspension the poll body ordered.

Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas campaign manager and Navotas Rep. Toby Tiangco is trying to divert the issue on the real reason behind the fall of Alyansa candidates when he announced his aspirations for speaker of the House of Representatives, former presidential chief legal counsel Salvador Panelo said yesterday.

The Senate will formally receive the House prosecution panel for Vice President Sara Duterte's impeachment trial on June 2, the same day Congress resumes its session.  

Salvador Panelo, former chief presidential legal counsel to Rodrigo Duterte, also believes Harry Roque should return to the Philippines and confront the charges against him.
