Chinese spies dadagsa sa Pinas sa unified visa system

MANILA, Philippines — Nagbabala si reelected Cagayan de Oro City 2nd District Rep. Rufus Rodriguez na higit na ­dadagsa ang mga dayuhang espiya ng China sa bansa kaugnay ng panukalang paglahok ng pamahalaan sa  planong ASEAN unified visa system.

Bunga nito hinikayat ni Rodriguez si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na atasan si Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco na i-withdraw o bawiin ang suporta ng ahensya sa nasabing plano.

Ang isinusulong na ASEAN visa system ay kahalintulad ng Schengen visa na ipinatutupad sa mga bansa sa Europa.

“Will pose greater risk to our national security and interest, our people and our society than the present set-up. This will allow Chinese tourists who are actually spies to get ASEAN visas in Chinese client states like Cambodia and Laos, or even the liberal visa grant by Thailand to Chinese citizens, to come to the Philippines,” saad ni Rodriguez kung saan awtomatikong makakapasok sa bansa ang mga espiya ng China sa ilalim ng ASEAN visa scheme.

“This will be more dangerous to our national security than our present visa issuance process. As it is, Chinese “Trojan horses” are able to enter the country as tourists, students and businessmen”, punto ng solon.

Sinabi ni Rodriguez na karamihan sa mga ito ay mga espiya ng Beijing kung saan marami na ang nasakote ng military habang umaaligid sa mga instalasyon ng militar, mga sensiibong tanggapan ng gobyerno kabilang na ang Comelec.

Samantala hinikayat din ng solon si Frasco at iba pang mga opisyal ng Department of Tourism (DOT) stakeholders na pag-isipang mabuti at isaalang-alang ang pambansang seguridad at interes.
