MANILA, Philippines — Inamin ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na nahaharap ngayon ang Pilipinas sa krisis sa tubig kaya nilagdaan niya ang Executive Order (EO) na lilikha sa Office of the Water Management.

Sa talumpati ng Pangulo sa 6th Edition Water Phi­lippine Conference and Exposition sa SMX Convention Center sa Pasay City, sinabi nito na seryoso ang problema sa suplay ng tubig sa bansa.

Bagamat ayaw umano niyang takutin ang publiko ay nahaharap umano tayo sa seryosong problema sa tubig at kailangan magtulungan dito ang bawat isa.

“There are many agencies that are involved in water supply and water management and it has just evolved that way. But what we are going to try to do is to make it a more cohesive policy so that there’s planning at a national level and in that way we can maximize the ma­nagement of what water we have,” pahayag pa ni Marcos.

Iginiit pa ng Pangulo, na dapat na gamitin ang teknolohiya para magkaroon ng cohesive plan hindi lang sa National Capital Region kundi sa buong bansa.

Malaki anya ang ginagampanan ng tubig sa pang-araw-araw na pamumuhay ng tao.

“And again I know that you are all experienced and committed to giving our people the fresh water supply that they need. And we’ll work together on that. It will not be the work of a day or of a week but we will start now and we will continue until it’s done,” pahayag pa ni Marcos.
