DOH: 8-buwang 'smoking ban' sa ilang beach, parke at tourist spots simula na
MANILA, Philippines — Inilunsad ng Department of Health ang kampanyang "smoke-free beaches, parks and tourist destinations" ngayong araw, kasabay ng pagdiriwang ng "World No Tobacco Day."
"To further strengthen our campaign against the use of tobacco, we have included this initiative to protect our beaches, parks, and tourist destinations from the environmental ill-effects of this product," ani Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, Martes.
"With this, we hope to further raise awareness and create new areas of impact in our overall effort to ensure the health of the Filipino people."

- Boracay
- Palawan
- Caramoan
- iba pang "premiere beach destinations"
"We hope that through the smoke-free beaches campaign, we unify the goal of the DOH to provide universal health care, which includes giving families an environment that lets them enjoy healthily without exposure to the harmful effects of second-hand smoke," panapos ni Duque.
Ipinagbabawal ng Republic Act 8749 (Philippine Clean Air Act of 1999) at R.A. 9211 (Tobacco Regulation Act of 2003) ang paninigarilyo sa loob ng enclosed public spaces at ilang pampublikong lugar.
