'Mag-ingat sa halik ni Kamatayan': Robredo binalaan vs posibleng Duterte endorsement
MANILA, Philippines — Imbis na makatulong, makakasama raw sa presidential candidacy ni Bise Presidente Leni Robredo ang posibleng pag-endorso sa kanya ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, dahilan para raw dapat niya itong tanggihan ayon sa isang militanteng grupo ng mangingisda.
Inilabas ng PAMALAKAYA ang pahayag, Huwebes, matapos sabihin ni Robredo na bukas siya sa suporta ni Duterte at mga hindi nakasusundo noon sa pulitika sa darating na halalan.
Kamakailan nang iendorso ni Eastern Samar Gov. Ben Evardone sa presidential race ang opposition leader, kahit siya ang vice president ng ruling PDP-Laban sa Visayas.
"VP Robredo should be reminded that Duterte is deemed as political outcast and widely exposed over his crimes against humanity that stemmed from the bloody war on drugs and other state policies that violate human rights and dignity," wika ni Fernando Hicap, tagapangulo ng PAMALAKAYA.
"Thus, a Duterte endorsement in the coming elections is lethal to the political career and reputation of his endorsed candidate."
Kahit kinakastigo ni Robredo ang madugong "war on drugs" ni Duterte, matatandaang inendorso ng PDP-Laban member na si Albay Rep. Joey Salceda ang kandidatura ni Robredo sa pagkapresidente. Gayunpaman, si Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, running mate ni dating Sen. Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., ang susuportahan niya sa pagkabise presidente.
Imbis na tanggapin ni Robredo ang posibleng pag-endorso ni Digong, hinamon ng PAMALAKAYA si VP Leni na maglabas ng public statement hinggil sa pagpapanagot kay Duterte kung manalo siya sa 2022. Ngayong taon lang nang aprubahan ng International Criminal Court ang full investigation sa "crimes against humanity" ng administrasyon kaugnay ng kontrobersyal na gera kontra-droga.
"A strong statement condemning the crimes of Duterte will actually add merit to political campaign of VP Robredo," patuloy ni Hicap.
"Her groundswell of supporters indicates that a huge number of Filipinos are already disgruntled with the Duterte regime that continues to kill and starve the people to its very last end."
Una nang sinabi ni Duterte na magandang katangian ng susunod na presidente ang pagiging abogado. Tanging si Robredo at Jose Montemayor Jr. lang ang abogado sa 10 presidential candidates.
Matatandaang Miyerkules lang nang uling idiin ni acting presidential spokesperson Martin Andanar na wala pang opisyal na ineendorso si Duterte sa pagkapangulo.
Sa ika-25 ng Marso pa raw maglalabas ng pinal na ieendorso sa pagkapangulo ang PDP-Laban bilang partido, sabi ng secretary-general nilang si Melvin Matibag.
