Seniors, PWDs bigyan ng 20% discount sa online shopping
Umapela kahapon si 5th District Quezon City Rep. Alfred Vargas na bigyan din ng 20% discount ang mga senior citizens at Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) sa mga binibili ng mga ito sa online platform tulad ng Grabfood, Shopee, Lazada at iba pa.
Ayon kay Vargas, chairman ng House Committee on Social Services, bagaman itinatadhana ng batas ang 20% discount sa senior citizens at PWDs ay wala ang mga itong nakukuha sa pagbili sa online.
Dahil bawal lumabas ang mga senior citizens simula noong pandemya ay napipilitan na lamang ang mga itong bumili sa online pero wala silang nakukuhang discount.
“Given the importance of online transactions in the everyday life and subsistence of Filipinos especially belonging in the senior citizens and persons with disabilities sector, it is imperative that the government establish and properly implement the necessary guidelines for special discounts on online transactions to uphold the rights and welfare of the elderly and persons with disabilities with the privileges they are entitled to under the law,” nakasaad sa House Resolution 1880 na inihain ni Vargas.
