Travel ban sa 33 bansa hiling palawigin

MANILA, Philippines — Hiniling ng University of the Philippines-OCTA Research Group sa pamahalaan na palawigin pa ng dalawang linggo ang travel ban sa 33 bansa upang mapigilan ang pagpasok ng United Kingdom variant ng COVID-19.

Sinabi ni UP-OCTA Research member Dr. Guido David na hindi pa maaaring ibaba ng pamahalaan ang depensa at hindi dapat balewalain na hindi pa nakakapasok sa bansa ang naturang variant ng virus.

Ang pagkakadiskubre ng naturang variant sa South Africa at Nigeria ay nagpapakita umano ng posibilidad na kumalat na ito sa iba’t ibang bansa.

Nakatakdang matapos ang travel ban sa Enero 15 at inaasahang pag-uusapan ng pamahalaan ang susunod na hakbang.

Sakop ng travel ban ang China, South Korea, United States, Japan, Brazil, Australia, United Kingdom, Pakistan, Jamaica, Luxembourg, Oman, Austria, Portugal, India, Finland, Norway, Jordan, Denmark, Ireland, Israel, The Netherlands, Hong Kong, Switzerland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Lebanon, Singapore, Sweden, South Africa, Canada, at Spain.

“Kailangan strict pati yung monitoring at qua-rantine. Kailangan strictly nila mapatupad yan talagang 14 days. Sa ibang bansa nga ‘di lang 14 days (There should be strict monitoring and quarantine. They need to strictly implement the 14-day qua-rantine. Actually in other countries, quarantine is more than 14 days),” ayon kay David.
