MANILA, Philippines — Binulabog ng malakas-lakas na pagyugyog ng lupa ang ilang lugar sa kapuluan ng Mindanao matapos ma-monitor ng Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) ang isang magnitude 6.2 na lindol.

Naitala ng Phivolcs ang epicenter ng lindol 86 kilometro timogsilangan ng Sarangani, Davao Occidental bandang 7:21 a.m ng Miyerkules. Una itong inulat na 6.1 magnitude ngunit itinaas din sa 6.2 matapos ang isang oras.

Naitala ang sumusunod na intensities ng Phivolcs:

Intensity V (strong)

  • General Santos City, South Cotabato

Intensity IV (moderately strong)

  • Kiamba, Alabel, Maasim, Glan, Malungon at Malapatan Saranggani
  • Lebak, Sultan Kudarat
  • Datu Blah Sinsuat, Maguindanao
  • Koronadal City,
  • Polomolok, Tampakan at Tupi, South Cotabato

Intensity III (weak)

  • Maitum, Sarangani
  • Cotabato City, Maguindanao
  • Davao City
  • Kidapawan City, North Cotabato
  • Tantangan at Santo Nino, South Cotabato

Intensity II (slightly felt)

  • Columbio, Sultan Kudarat
  • Tacurong City, Sultan Kudarat
  • Magpet, North Cotabato

Intensity I (scarcely perceptible)

  • Zamboanga City

Inaasahan ang parehong mga pinsala at aftershocks, o kasunod na paglindol, sa mga nasabing lugar.

"[S]o far po, ongoing assessment pa sa affected areas, wala pa pong reported damages," ayon kay Mark Timbal, deputy spokespesperson ng National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), sa panayam ng PSN.

Sa kabila nito, meron nang ilang damage na naitatala sa Mindanao, gaya na lang ng shopping mall na ito sa General Santos City, na siyang nakadama ng Intensity V — ang pinakamalakas sa lahat ng maitalang intensity ngayong araw ng Phivolcs.
