Duterte nagbanta laban sa operasyon ng Facebook sa Pilipinas

MANILA, Philippines — Pinagbantaan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang operasyon ng kumpanyang Facebook sa Pilipinas matapos pagtatanggalin ng kumpanya ang samu't saring pages at accounts na iniuugnay sa Philipine National Police (PNP) at Armed Forces of the Philippines (PNP) na gumagawa ng mga "inauthentic behavior."

Ang mga naturang pages at accounts ay kadalasang ginagamit sa panre-redtag at pagkakalat ng pekeng balita tungkol sa mga ligal na aktibista't kritiko ng gobyerno — ang ilan ay diretsahan pang tinatawag na terorista ng mga nasabing pages.

"We allow you to operate here, hoping that you can help us also. Now, if government cannot espouse or advocate something which is for the good of the people, then what is your purpose here in my country?" sambit ni Digong sa isang talumpati, Lunes nang gabi.

"You know Facebook, insurgency is about overturning a government... What would be the point of letting you continue if you cannot help us?"

Giit tuloy ng pangulo, dapat mag-usap ang gobyerno at Facebook kung bakit hindi raw magamit ng pamahalaan ang platform ng Facebook para sa "kapakanan ng taumbayan."

Dumulo pa ito sa pag-aakusa ni Duterte sa Facebook sa pakikipagsabwatan sa mga rebeldeng komunista.

"If you are promoting the cause of the rebellion, which was already here before you came, and [killed] so many thousands of my soldiers and civilians dying, then if you cannot reconcile the idea of what your purpose is... then we have to talk," dagdag niya.

"You cannot lay down a policy for my government."
