Bakuna sa Abril pa magiging available sa publiko - FDA
MANILA, Philippines — Posibleng sa Abril pa ng susunod na taon magkaroon ng ligtas at epektibong bakuna laban sa COVID-19 dito sa Pilipinas.
“The best case scenario if clinical trials are completed by December or January and a company would file with the FDA an application then it’s possible that by April 2021 we will have an approved vaccine,” ayon kay Food and Drug Administration director general Eric Domingo.
Kung maganda raw ang resulta ng nasabing trials, tiyak na mabilis ang magiging proseso nito sa aplikasyon.
Ayon kay Usec. Domingo, kailangan lang ma-secure ng vaccine developers ang lahat ng kinakailangang dokumento sa aplikasyon ng Certificate of Product Registration.
“Usually for new vaccines and products it takes 180 days (evaluation of submitted documents), but for COVID-19 vaccine we have created teams dedicated to it. Ang target namin is 60 days,” ani Domingo.
Sa kasalukuyan, 17 pharmaceutical companies at institusyon sa ibang bansa ang may bilateral agreement sa Pilipinas kaugnay ng COVID-19 vaccine at 6 sa mga ito ang lumagda na ng confidentiality disclosure agreements (CDA).
