POGOs puwedeng buwisan - Malacañang
MANILA, Philippines — Naniniwala ang Malacañang na dapat lamang patawan ng buwis ang Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO).
Taliwas ito sa naging opinion ni Solicitor General Jose Calida na hindi puwedeng buwisan ang kita ng POGOs.
Sinabi ni Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo na, sakop ng section (23), Chapter 2 ng National Internal Revenue Code ang mga domestic POGOs gayundin ang mga foreign POGOs base naman sa isinasaad ng Section 23 (F), Chapter ng NIRC.
“At the onset, the Palace notes that it is the Department of Finance (DOF) which has the primary mandate based on the Administrative Code to formulate, institutionalize and administer fiscal policies in coordination with other concerned subdivisions, agencies and instrumentalities of government. As such, the discretion of the DOF, alongside the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), carries significant weight on matters of taxation,” wika ni Panelo.
Malinaw aniya na may karapatan ang gobyerno na mangolekta ng kaukulang buwis sa alinmang entity o indibidwal.
