‘Full investigation’ sa WPS giit ng US
MANILA, Philippines — Binasag na ng Estados Unidos ang pananahimik at nanawagan ng “full investigation” sa naganap na paglubog ng isang Pilipinong bangkang-pangisda na binundol o nabundol ng isang barko ng Tsina sa Recto Bank sa West Philippine Sea.
“I think it is important that there be have a full investigation of what happened and if there is any wrongdoing those responsible should be held accountable,” ayon kay US Ambassador to the Philippines Sung Kim sa opisyal nilang pahayag.
“I think the incident is a reminder of the importance of developing a meaningful code of conduct, the effort the US supported quite few years now. Reminder of the importance of responsible maritime activities that is consistent with international law and practices,” dagdag pa ni Kim.
Nagpahayag rin ng pasasalamat si Kim dahil sa pagkakaligtas sa 22 mangingisdang Pilipino na sinagip ng isang bangka ng Vietnam na napadaan sa Recto Bank.
