Investment mission sa Saudi tagumpay

MANILA, Philippines — Tagumpay ang dalawang araw na investment mission ng Philippine de­legation na nagtungo sa Saudi Arabia matapos makakuha ng investment pledges para sa Cotabato City at sa iba pang Bangsamoro provinces mula sa Arabia businessmen.

Ayon kay Maguindanao First District Rep. Bai Sandra Sema, ang delegasyon na binubuo ng Filipino government officials at businessmen, sa pangunguna ni House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, ay nagpunta sa Saudi Arabia upang magprisinta ng investment possibilities para sa Middle Eastern businessmen sa bagong tatag na Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

“Now that the Bangsa­moro Organic Law has been passed it is time to work for the econo­mic prosperity of the newly created BARMM,” pagbibigay-diin ni Rep. Sema na isa sa main proponents ng kaaapruba lamang na Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL).

Nagpaha­yag ng inte­res ang Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and In­dustry (JCCI), ang pi­na­kamatandang business at services organization sa KSA na may miyem­brong 120,000 busi­nessmen sa pag-iinvest sa agrikultura at iba pang Halal-related businesses sa Filipinas - partikular sa kape, isda at carrageenan seaweed lalo na kapag naisakatuparan ang panukalang Halal Economic Zone Authority (HEZA).
