Palasyo kay Sereno: Good luck!
MANILA, Philippines — "We wish her good luck in her everyday life as a private citizen.”
Ito ang pahayag ng Malacañang ngayong Martes para kay Maria Lourdes Sereno na tuluyan nang napatalsik sa Korte Suprema.
Sinabi ito ni Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque kasunod ng pagtitibay ng mataas na hukuman sa pagpapatalsik kay Sereno.
"So like it or hate it, we have to succumb to the decision of the Supreme Court that is now final and executory decision. The time of Meilou Sereno as chief justice is now over," wika ni Roque.
Sa hatol ng korte ay nangunguhulugan itong hindi kailanman naging punong mahistrado si Sereno.
Nanawagan ang gobyerno sa publiko na magkaisa sa kabila ng pagkontra ng mga taga suporta ni Sereno.
"What the president is asking now is for the Filipino people to be united. I think the decision of the Supreme Court is clear," sabi ni Roque.
Sa botong 8-6 ay pinaboran ng mataas na hukuman ang quo warranto petition ni Solicitor General Jose Calida laban kay Sereno.
