E-vehicles sagot sa oil price hike
MANILA, Philippines — Sa gitna na rin ng patuloy na pagsirit ng presyo ng langis at iba pang produktong petrolyo, nanawagan kahapon si I-CARE Partylist Rep. Carlos Roman Uybarreta na tangkilikin ang electric vehicles na bahagi ng isinusulong na modernisasyon ng administrasyon.
“For the long-term, modernizing our public transport systems with electric vehicles will make us much less vulnerable to high world crude oil prices,” paliwanag ni Uybaretta.
Sinabi ni Uybaretta, vice chairman ng House committee on Energy at miyembro ng committee on Transportation na panahon na para magising sa katotohanan ang mga kumokontra sa electric vehicles na nais ng administrasyon ni Pangulong Duterte na siyang bumiyahe sa mga lansangan.
Ayon kay Uybaretta, hindi kailangang gamitan ng gasolina, krudo at iba pa ang mga electronic vehicles at bukod dito ay makakaiwas pa sa polusyon sa ibinubugang usok ng mga behikulo na maaring pagmulan pa ng mga sakit tulad ng hika, sakit sa balat, tuberculosis at iba pa
“This is one lesson we can derive from our current struggles with rising fuel prices,” punto ng kongresista.
Sa ilalim ng bagong Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusin (TRAIN) Law ay mas binibigyan ng ‘preferential tax treatment’ ang mga electric vehicles.
“Section 45 of RA 10963 exempts purely electric vehicles from excise taxes while hybrid vehicles get just a 50 percent rate based on the excise tax on purely fuel-powered vehicles,” giit pa ng mambabatas.
“Rising fuel prices make the modernization of public utility vehicles all the more urgent because it will, overall, be advantageous to the jeepney and bus drivers for the simple reason that they will be much less affected by fuel price increases,” sabi pa nito.
