Napoles wala na sa WPP

MANILA, Philippines — Binitawan na ng Department of Justice ang tinaguriang pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles sa kanilang witness protection program.

Sinabi ni Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra na ipinaalam na nila kay Napoles na simula ngayong araw ay tapos na ang partial protection na ibinigay sa kaniya.

Tinukoy ni Guevarra ang pagbabasura ng tatlong korte sa Sandiganbayan ng hirit ni Napoles na mailipat sa safe house ng DOJ.

“Considering the denial of Napoles’ Urgent Motion for Transfer of Custody to the DOJ Witness Protection Security and Benefit Program by the First, Third, and Fifth Divisions of the Sandiganbayan, the main purpose for which Ms. Napoles had sought the admission into the WPSBP has become moot and academic,” sabi ng kalihim.

Isinailalim si Napoles sa WPP nitong Pebrero 27 sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni dating Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II ngunit Marso 27 na ito nalaman ng publiko.

“As there has been further claim of threats to her personal security inside Camp Bagong Diwa, the Secretary of Justice has found no reason to extend further Ms. Napoles’ provisional coverage under the Witness Protection Program,” patuloy ni Guevarra.

Inulan ng batikos ang DOJ dahil sa pagkuha kay Napoles sa WPP.
