Drug case vs Peter Lim, Kerwin, ibinasura

MANILA, Philippines — Inabswelto ng Department of Justice sina Peter Go Lim at Kerwin Espinosa para sa kasong may kinalaman sa ilegal na droga.

Sa 51-pahinang resolusyon na inilabas ng DOJ ngayong Lunes, ibinasura nila ang isinampang kaso ng Philippine National Police- Criminal Investigation and Detection Group laban kina Lim at Espinosa.

Ibinasura ito dahil sa paiba-ibang testimonya ng testigong si Marcelo Adorco.

"For if we would base our finding of probable cause on such bare and incredible testimony alone, we would open the floodgates to malicious and unwarranted prosecutions and in so doing, renege on our task to objectively and indepedently determine the cases that need to be filed in court and the persons who should be indicted for the criminal acts," nakasaad sa resolusyon.

Positibong kinilala ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte si Espinosa at tatay niyang si dating Albuera, Leyte Mayor Roland Espinosa na drug lord sa Visayas.

Namatay ang dating alkalde sa loob ng kaniyang selda sa PNP-CIDG Region 8 matapos umanong manlaban.
