Lumad school kay Duterte: Di kami nabibili

MANILA, Philippines — Binanatan ng isang paaralan ng mga indigenous people o Lumad nitong Sabado ang alok ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa mga katutubo na P20,000 kapalit ng bawat rebelde na kanilang mapapatay.

 

Sinabi ng Alternative Learning Center for Agricultural and Livelihood Development Inc., isang paaralan para sa mga kabataang Lumad sa Caraga Region, na hindi nabibili ang kanilang pakikipaglaban upang maprotektahan ang kanilang mga katutubong lupain.

 

Dagdag pa nito na wala sa kanilang kultura ang pumatay kapalit ng salapi.

 

“To kill in exchange for money is not part of our culture as indigenous peoples. The underlying principle of our struggle to defend the land of our ancestors can never be bought,” wika ng Alcadev Inc.

 

Hinimok ni Duterte nitong Biyernes ang mga lumad na pumatay ng mga komunista kapalit ng P20,000 sa bawat rebelde na kanilang mapapatay matapos na rin ang ulat ng pagpaslang sa isang lider ng tribo at ng kanyang anak sa Talaingod, Davao del Norte.

 

“If they (Lumads) want, if they are well trained enough, give me about three months, I will train them as CAFGU (Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit) and give them firearms and go out and hunt for those who killed their comrades,” wika ni Duterte.

 

“If you got one NPA, I said also, I will pay you... I will make it 20,000 per head,” dagdag ng pangulo.

 

Samantala, hindi din anila tutulad ang mga Lumad sa ginagawang pagpapalayas ng mga militar sa kanilang mga lupain na nagreresulta sa pagkamatay ng kanilang mga miyembro.

 

“To even ask us to kill, as if killing is the way to peace in our communities, shows ignorance of our plight and our struggle. So many of our leaders have been killed, and it has brought us nothing but grief. We've never asked you to kill anyone; all we've ever asked for is justice,” pahayag ng Alcadev Inc.

 

"Members of the military and paramilitary, murderers that they are, never hesitated to kill those that stood in their way as they drove us away from our ancestral lands and paved the way for our people's demise. We refuse to do the same,” dagdag nito.

 

Matatandaang nagbanta din si Duterte na kanyang bobombahin ang mga paaralan ng Lumad na umano’y pinapatakbo ng mga komunista.

 

Nauna pa rito’y bumwelta si Duterte na kanyang ipapapatay ang limang miyembro ng New People’s Army sa kada sundalong mapapatay.

 

Ito ay matapos magbanta si Communist Party of the Philippines founding chairman Jose Maria Sison na magtutumba ang NPA ng isang sundalo araw-araw hanggang mapilitan ang gobyerno na bumalik sa usapang pakikipagkapayapaan.
